Tuscany in the Spring

Although, today is unseasonably cold, spring is definitely in the air. The trees are beginning to bud and daffodils are now popping through the cold ground. One place I've always wanted to visit during the spring is Tuscany. How, absolutely, beautiful!!! I don't see that happening in the near future, but can certainly do some classic Italian entertaining. An Italian menu is one of the easiest and least expensive meal choices. It's, also, a crowd pleaser. There are many wonderful pre-made pasta options in the supermarket today that have a wonderful gourmet appearance and flavor.
A variety of seasoned rolls are perfect for Italian
sandwiches.  Larger loaves of bread are inexpensive
and work well for additional decoration. We used
inexpensive planters as serving bowls.

Fresh strawberries and grapes are a must.  We made this cornucopia from frozen roll dough!

These anti-pasta skewers were easy and fun to make.  The bamboo picks can be purchased on-line.
We used a combination of sun dried tomatoes, olives, artichokes and mozzarella cheese.
Sliced fresh salami and mozzarella with spicy mustard and cracked pepper mayonnaise.  Yum!
